y.t.
y.t., 'yours twirly,' grew up convinced that she was not "made” for hula hoops. Decades later, her dear friend Jess urged: "Give me three minutes with the right hoops." These three minutes opened a new door, and led her to her first hoop dance class under Marria Grace's tutelage in March of 2009.
Hooping quickly became a passion. During her first year, y.t. diligently practiced and sought out every opportunity to spread her love for hooping to her community, including participating in performances and organizing the first Hooping Park in Greater Boston for Park(ing) Day 2009. In May of 2010, y.t. became the newest member of Boston Hoop Troop. She taught her first hooping class three months later to a new generation of hula hoop lovers.
y.t. continues to hone her hooping skills while discovering other movement/spin toys. When not hooping, she project manages web things, teaches piano, proudly represents a local bicycle nerd-gang while being a perpetual student at life. She is grateful for the honor to be part of this amazing collective of performers and teachers.
